The Golden American Saddlebred Horse division will be judged by existing rules in the Saddlebred division of the American Horse Shows Association, with these exceptions: All horses must be shown with full mane and tail, except weanlings and three-gaited horses which may be shown with a roached mane and tail

The High Point McClure Trophy was awarded to Better Than Bourbon, shown by Bobby Morrison for Nancy Merck. This fine horse has won the beautiful award several years. This year it was a close race with the color class being the determining factor in this award. Better Than Bourbon is only a junior horse and has an outstanding future ahead of him.
