This is the month of our Spring meeting and election of
officers, so hope all have made plans to attend at the Springs Hill Suites next
to Tattersalls sale at 863 South Broadway. Although is would be late still call Erin
McMahon for rooms at the horseman rate 859-225-1500. The meeting should be called to order by
President Doreen, in David Swindlers room at 7-PM. There will be snacks and
beverages available. You can BYOB as well to share with others. Don’t forget to
bring items to auction off or donate funds to our different club efforts.
David Linton of Sunfire Stables
in Marengo Indiana has sent me notice he will be moving to North Carolina this summer and has listed
his gold stallions for sale and broodmares as well. He is using the equine.com
site. David has his older gold stud Broadways Sunfire
for sale who has performed well in silver classes,
halted and under the flat. He is nice in even gold color and easy to work with
and show. Having been bred with live cover has retained manners for hauling and
showing which is a real positive. I know as I have
shown him and hauled him myself. His other gold stud is the 2 year old son
which is at the age to get him started. I have trained or started several young
horses out of this stud and all have had good personalities and showed talent
to lean easy. Please check them out or contact David at (sunfirestables@peoplepc.com ).

Goldenview Farms in Pa. owned by Suzanne Mamrose will again be hosting the Annual Breast Cancer
Awareness Trail Ride and Pig Roast, May 13th, 2006. This is in memory of a
dear friend Terri Wojtaseski who was a good horse
lover and friend. This is a really fun
event and very easy on the pocket book. For the very small fee of $20.00 you
get a trail ride in the beautiful countryside for over three hours with a nice
lunch mid-day, then a pig roast in the evening. If you can’t make it for the
entire event the Pig Roast is only $10.00. Of course there will also be
50/50-drawings and items to auction off to raise funds for more research. I am
planning to go if all falls into place so I can and encourage all to try. If
you can’t come, please send in a donation of any sort. It might just be a check
or items to be sold , all are needed to make this a
bigger event than last year. For more information please contact Suzanne Mamrose by phone or via gasha
website or direct to ( goldenviewfarms.com ) all
information I understand will be posted there as well. All funds taken in will
be going for one of the best causes to research a cure and treatment for Breast
Cancer so please help to top last year. Thank you.
Ohio lost one of its
great horsemen with the passing of Stanley Edwards of northern Ohio. Stan and his
lovely wife Gloria ran the stables, showing many fine saddlebreds
over the years. Back in the 70’s and 80’s Stanley
presented several vary talented golden saddlebreds
for different people. One of the ones I remember best was a dark gold stud,
owned by the late Irene Harms of Medina, Ohio Chief Shannons
Richlu Adair which won several championship at the
Ohio State Fair as well as Gasha Championships. Our
deepest regard and respect to Gloria and the family at this time of loss.
Our membership has grown over the last 6-years and I hope
that Gasha will continue to see this. As the
elections will be announced later after the Spring
meeting I feel sure with strong leadership this will help our numbers grow. Any
member can make a difference to the club by being active and following through
for years to come. So please consider long term investment in any club you join
and become active in as it takes continued work, those who fly in and out
sometimes can send a club backwards. I encourage each member to work just a
little as we have in the past. It is the little workers who end up seeing the
best results over the long term. If you have ideas or
suggestions please contact myself or go via the gasha.org website to share the
ideas. Thank you.
